Today I’m Wearing: Floral Palazzo Pants
As I was leaving work today, the sun was shining like no tomorrow. In fact, I had to squint the whole way home like an absolute FOOL because I forgot to swipe my sunglasses into my bag this morning. Bare in mind that I started at the crack of dawn today I let myself off the sundrenched hook, and as soon as I stepped foot into my threshold I raided my wardrobe for my Palazzo pants. A girl has to make the most of every sunshine opportunity she can get in this country, wouldn’t you agree?!
But of course sod’s law came into play and when I decided to leave said house (to pick up a couple of goodies from the shop’s down the road, if you’re asking) the clouds covered every speck of sunshine in sight. Warm, yes! Sunny, NO. Stinkin’ typical. Let’s just pretend it was REALLY light and bright, shall we?

TA-DAH. Cheating with style, now that’s the ticket! But anyway, onto things of a higher importance than my idiot sense of humour- how AMAZING are Palazzo pants, everybody?! Before my floral ones came into my life I’d pretty much passed up every opportunity I’d had to buy a pair, be it the fact that every excuse under the sun (pah, there it goes again!) had crossed my mind: they’re really wide, floaty, plain brash, floral central- but, and this is a BIG but- none of that matters. Seriously. They’re literally the summer equivalent to slipping into your pyjama bottoms on a cold winters evening and from all of two hours ago, I’ve become OBSESSED with the little blighters. Come Summer 2012, they’ll be on again like a shot, you mark my words.

My weathered hands, which will be undergoing a major moistorising sesh tonight. Rings are from Topshop, as per.
So, dear blogging friends. If I could pass on any advice to your lovely selves, it’d be to get yourself a pair of Palazzo’s pants in time for the sun season. Not only will they serve you well as your summer partner in crime, but they’re also the epitome of comfort and an essential piece of a ‘12 summer wardrobe. They don’t always have to be expensive either, heck I bought mine for £5 from the Topshop outlet but either way trust me when I say that they’re BLOODY BRILLIANT. Lots of love, Lau xxx
Today I wore- Jumper: ‘Vintage’ M&S courtesy of mother, Sunglasses: River Island, Necklace: Forever 21, Satchel: Topshop, Palazzo pants: Topshop, Rings: Topshop.

Today I’m ‘Wearing’- Urbanears ‘Plattan’ Headphones
Last week, I was a little bit jammy and managed to win a pair of ‘Plattan’ headphones, courtesy of Phones4U. Now, I’m quite a picky so-n-so when it comes to my music (only the best will do, but of course you’ll all understand that) and seeing as though I’d never seen a pair of Urbanears headphones before, I didn’t know what to expect. When they arrived in the post Friday morning, I was delighted!

The Plattan comes in an array of pastel colours along with the usual concoction of black, and then white- I was presented with the latter. White goes with pretty much anything, so really I was thankful that I wouldn’t have the whole ‘HOW will I match my accessory to my outfit’ dilemma that would have inevitably occurred (however sad that sounds, unfortunately that’s how my idiot mind works!).

Another handy thing about the Plattan is they fold up, making them the perfect travel accessory. Personally the size of ‘these sort’ of headphones has always put me off buying my own pair, but these little beauties could easily fit in a handbag or travel case alike! They’re really light too, so again- big bonus! I’ll definitely be shipping my new little mate around with me, that’s for sure. Another thing I LOVE about the Plattan is that the cord is made of fabric; no more tangled wires for me!

And THERE IT IS GUYS. My iPod, or should I say- my beloved?! Whilst I will protest until my death bed that I don’t live in the Stone Ages, I have to admit that my iPod has become more than just a portable music player to me over the EIGHT years I’ve had it. Call it a pet, a mate, or whatever you like- but either way I think it’s amazing. To me it just has more character than the current iPods- I love the dull pink and the thought of upgrading it for a square sod makes me shudder. So until my poor little thing dies *crosses fingers that this is NEVER!* then my little Mini will be with me for many more years to come yet. Course, the Plattan will be it’s new best mate; I’ll have to make sure I get the pair better acquainted.

Today I ‘also’ wore- Sunglasses: River Island, Tee: New Look (in stores now!) Feather Necklace: Topshop, Shorts: Topshop Rings: Topshop and Accessorize.
I was not requested to write this blog post, I just thought such a good product deserved recognition. Thank you for the prize, Phones4U! If you’d like to find out more about the Plattan, Urbanears have a video on their website about the product: HERE.

‘Today I’m Wearing’- My Little Felt Hat
I went to the Topshop Outlet yesterday, in case I didn’t mention it! Apologies to all of my Twitter followers- I was so excited that I’d bought my life’s worth of clothes back with me that my fingers got a little carried away- as did my obsession for my new neon jumper. But that, my friends is another tale. Seeing as though I was a lone ranger on my trip, I thought I’d get my little photographer brother to snap some photo’s of what I was wearing before I embarked on my journey- so ta dah!

My hat is actually my mum’s, and had been sitting in her wardrobe for god knows how long. She told me that she used to wear it around the time I was born, so that’ll let you all in on how old it is! I’ve had such bad luck with finding a hat on the High Street that I’ve given up for the time being, and my ‘old’ little felt hat has been doing me just fine, ta very much. Truthfully, I’ve become quite attached to the swine, cheers mother!

My denim shirt came from my first visit to Topshop Outlet, and I bought my jumper in the Topman sale in October for a measly £10. Not only was it a bargain and a half but it’s a comfy little sod- men’s knitwear is definitely the way to go! Because my speckled grey number is actually an XL, I clinched it around the waist with a skinny brown belt, and that was from Zara.

My necklace is from Urban Outfitters, and I bought that a couple of months ago at my favourite branch (cough: Kensington High Street) and that was also in the sale. I’m a true believer in not always having to pay full price to, excuse me while I cringe- ‘look good’, and unless I am completely in love with something or know that it’s a high quality piece that’ll last donkeys years, then I’ll rarely splash out anything more than £30 on one item. Heck, fashion moves so quickly that if you’re going to spend you’re life away on ‘fast fashion’ then you’ll be broke before you know it!

The bag is also from Urban Outfitters which I bought a few years ago (I feel like Mary Poppins with it because I can fit so much inside!) the tights are from Gap, and the shoes are again, from UO. You can tell that I have a soft spot for Toppy and Urban, can’t you?

Now that the weather’s starting to perk up and the likelihood of me being blown away by a hurricane has decreased slightly, I’ll try to take more ‘Today I’m Wearing’ posts for you all. Although it’s the part of my blog I update the least ironically it’s one of the subsections which gets the most views- so I promise I’ll make more of an effort! Can’t promise I won’t laugh my way through them all though, the main photo at the top is of me trying to control myself cringing away! LOTS of love, L xx

‘Today I’m Wearing’: Monroe for Sarenza
A man’s best friend? The dog. A girl’s best friend? Shoes. From the Monroe’s to the Jolie’s to the fictional Carrie Bradshaw’s, women the world over have been adoring fashionable footwear for centuries on end, and I, my friend provide no exception to this rule.

Take one of Jeffrey Campbell’s own; the ‘Johnson’, for example. Not only does he possess that essential je-ne-sais-quoi that would undoubtedly force the other shoes in your wardrobe weep with envy, he also incorporates two of the major trends for the S/S’12 season- the ‘Chelsea’ boot and the animal print. ‘Johnson’ is one mean machine, and if that little rapscallion didn’t provide me with the opportunity to indulge my wild side throughout the streets of Londres then frankly, I don’t know what the world would’ve come to. And seeing as though Sarenza is the place where Johnson lives, I think it’s fair to say that they need to save me, and fast.

With heels of steel and print that’d make even the boldest blush, these boots are certainly something special. Partnered with leggings and a printed oversized tee, I’d be in fashion ‘animal-esque prowling’ heaven. But of course for now, their sister- ‘Lydia’ will have to stand in as a worthy substitute.
‘I don’t know who invented high heels, but all women owe him a lot.’ We certainly do, Marilyn. We certainly do.

Want to become a Sarenza Ambassador? They’re holding a competition to find the latest addition to their blogging team, and this is my entry. As a Sarenza Ambassador, not only will you receive £150 to spend on shoes each month, but you’ll also get to attend events for the company in London and Paris (which is erm, amazing?!). To enter, click on this link to find out more.
Wearing- T-shirt: Tee and Cake at Topshop, Utility Jacket: River Island (in the sale now!), Tights: Gap, Heels: ‘Lydia’ by Jeffrey Campbell.

‘Today I’m Wearing’- Triangular Gold
I’ll put my hands up- I’ve been severely slacking with my ‘Today I’m Wearing’ posts over the last few months. And realistically, there’s only one culprit that I can blame that isn’t my outfitless self. Winter. Yes, I’m dumping all of my regret onto England’s Ice Age.
I don’t know about all of you, but I have an actual hatred of taking photos indoors. Natural light trumps Mr Edison’s compadre anyday of the week (who does the lightbulb think he is, taking on the actual sun?!) and getting a suitable backdrop indoors? Na-ah. So, please excuse my temporary photo stop in my living room (cheers, curtain) and my idiot grinning face. I haven’t done this for donkey’s and I got my brother to take these snaps at the speed of light before I went out last night! Note to self: bottle up idiot humour from now on…

I’m a true believer in the saying ‘You learn something new everyday’. January 21st, 2012: Flash/being indoors/my mate ‘Lumix’ makes me look orange.
Necklace: Urban Outfitters (in the sale now!), Jumper: Topshop, Belt: Vintage, Dress (shown as skirt) H&M, Ring: Accessorize (in the sale now!)

NYE, ‘The Babble’ style
Without intentionally doing so, I often ‘promise’ that I’ll post photos of my adventures and stupidly, I forget. Well not this time, my dears! Although my camera didn’t take many photos on the night (my photographer friend did most of the hard work on her amazing SLR!) here are some of my better shots from the New Year itself. And, because I’m a massive IDIOT, I forgot to snap the marvel that was the ‘French Crepe Creator’. Unfortunately that treat will have to be saved for another time. Although my friends will probably murder me for doing so, here’s a slice of my last night of 2011!

The beauty that was the Byron cheese burger (before it was scoffed, of course).

Amy’s beautiful, multi purpose/entertaining top (Topshop, FYI).

My leopard print dress: Topshop, Lipstick: Rimmel (170, ‘alarm’).

more! Magazine’s ‘Blog Boudoir’: An Update
Over the last month or so I’ve been blogging for more! as one of the magazine’s ‘Blog Boudoir-ers’ and to tell you the truth, I’m bloody lovin’ it. When my post pops up on their site every Thursday I’d be lying if I said it didn’t feel surreal (I practically think of myself as the president of the magazine’s fan club, you see…) and I really couldn’t feel more grateful for this amazing opportunity.
Before I slip into one of those notorious ‘I’d like to thank my family, and my friends…’ speeches (after all, this isn’t the Oscar’s and I’m no Sandra Bullock), I’d like to give you all the heads up you about our latest ‘challenge’, which I mentioned briefly a couple of weeks ago. When I received my latest email from Alison asking whether I’d like to make a video of myself for the website, I’m not going to lie- I thought I was going to collapse into a pile on the floor. When I say that I’m camera shy, I mean, I’m overally camera shy (after months of ‘practice’ I still find it ‘eeeek’ doing the ‘today I’m wearing’ posts!) but I’d always wanted to give the whole thing a pop, and this kick up the backside is exactly what I needed!
Although I’ll probably be cringing until the end of 2012 over this video, for a two minute clip it does represent me pretty well. I know it’s always really weird to hear people you’ve been reading about with an actual-human-voicebox too, so I hope it’s all not too strange for you all! Anyway, for those who want to see me making a prat of myself, then please head over to more!s website via this link or, you could watch my video on Youtube, HERE. I’d also thoroughly recommend watching the other girls videos on more!s ‘Blogs’ page, they’re all so, so lovely and it was a pleasure being able to find out ‘a bit more…’ (oh dear) about them too!

New Look’s Glitter Heeled Boots
For my latest ‘Today I’m Wearing’ post, I knew that I had to feature one of my 21st Birthday gifts, New Look’s glitter heeled boot. Not only do they showcase the highly sort after glitter heel which blazed through the Fall catwalks thanks to Miu Miu, but they’re also the colour of the season too, ‘burgundy’. New Look are pretty much the shoe GODS of the High Street; they always have such an extensive collection of creative, unique shoes and they’re always one of my first ports of call in the party season.

Of course, I’ve been lusting after the scent of Chanel Chance since the beginning of time, so it was lovely surprise to receive a bottle on Tuesday. I have a massive soft spot for anything Chanel, so obviously it was a necessity to include the gift bag and bottle in the rituals. Please excuse my make up-ed ‘less’ face, had to take these photos in a great sense of haste (unfortunately, I have work this evening. Boo. Hiss.)

Considering that these boots were only around £35, they’re undoubtedly a brilliant buy- they look like they’re worth hundreds! Thank you so much for the present, David!
Outfit: Leggings, Shirt and Boots- All New Look. Scent: Chanel Chance ‘Eau Fraiche’
PS- I received an email from More’s Executive Editor yesterday, Alison, and I’ve been given my first Blog Boudoir task! I won’t reveal what that so ‘challenge’ is just yet, but as soon as it’s complete and up on their website, I’ll let you all know!

My ‘Lydia’ Jeffrey Campbell Heels
Since forever, I’ve wanted a pair of Jeffrey Campbell heels. The brand has really taken off over the past year, and it’s not hard to see why- their heels are absolutely stunning! Well, you can imagine what my reaction was when Zalando said they’d send me a pair courtesy of their Zalando UK blog, saying I was over the moon is a complete understatement!
After literally watching the postman as if it was my life’s mission over the past week my pair of Lydia’s arrived in London this morning, and if anything I was more impressed with them in the flesh.

I’m 5’ 7 in ‘real life’ (so it’s not like I need a hand in the height department) but the Lydia’s elevate me to around 6 foot tall; it was so surreal to be that high up- my head was in the clouds literally and metaphorically! The heel itself isn’t ‘that’ high it’s the platform which makes the Lydia’s so tall, so they’re really easy to walk in and very comfortable. I was also really impressed with the ‘matte’ glitter effect too, it’s subtle and incredibly flattering and perfect for the upcoming party season. Zalando you are officially my new best friend, thank you once again!

My ‘Lydia’ Jeffrey Campbell Heels

Since forever, I’ve wanted a pair of Jeffrey Campbell heels. The brand has really taken off over the past year, and it’s not hard to see why- their heels are absolutely stunning!
