Monsters University- Trailer

After a long absence from the blogging scene (I blame my Asian adventure and my new job, personally!)- I’m back! And what a better way to return then show a sneak peak of a new Pixar flick?

Asia here I come!

What feels like absolute yonks ago, I booked a trip to Asia. A 17 day adventure in fact, which would involve touring around Hong Kong, Borneo, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo- taking in sights galore and seeing parts of the world I’d only ever dreamt of. After months of waiting tomorrow is going to be THAT day, and at 9pm on the 27th I’ll be saying ‘Hasta La Vista’ to London and cheering on the Far East!

I’m going to be gone until the 12th, so I won’t return to blogging until the week of the 14th. Since I started working full time I haven’t been able to update the blog as much as I’d have liked to, but from the third week of January onwards I’m going to make a real effort to bring my little baby back to it’s former self.

I hope you’ve all had an amazing Christmas, and speak next year! LOTS of love, Laura x

Les Miserables- 5 New Clips

Some kind sir has created a YouTube video forging the five new Les Mis clips (they’re even in chronological order, impressive!) and the film looks spectacular. Hey what can I say, I love a good ole musical film, alright?!

Is anybody else equally as excited for Les Mis as I am? Unfortunately for some idiotic reason the film seems to come out everywhere but the UK before January *slight exaggaration, mainly Asia/US/Aus*, but all of us UK musicoholics will have to wait until the 11th Jan. May have to take a visit a cinema on the sly whilst I’m in Asia over NY!

Can’t say my opinion has changed much, especially when it comes to Britney’s techno voice, corrr blimey. If I wasn’t physically seeing her prance around in the video, there’s no way I would’ve said it was her! So, what’s your verdict?

Jack The Giant Slayer- Trailer

In my eyes, fantasy films are always a bit of a risk. Sure some break out of the film closet and change the world as we know it (LOTR, Harry Potter) but some are just plain rubbish (Stardust, I’m talking about you!).

It’s hard to get an impression of ‘Jack’ from the trailer, but immediately you can tell that a hell of a lot of cash has been chucked at the production of the movie. It’s due to be released in March ‘13, around the same time as ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’, so it’ll be interesting to see which one will come up trumps!

Ke$ha- ‘Warrior’ Album Sampler

Although many say the second album is the hardest to crack, it looks like Ke$ha’s continued to ride the wave from Animal, her first album- as her distinct pop sounds notoriously similar to round one. Good on her! (Who wants to listen to a follow up which is miles different from it’s processor? Not me, that’s for sure!)

I’m actually quite impressed! The snippets are short, but it certainly sounds promising. Can’t truthfully say I’m the biggest Ke$ha fan- but maybe this LP will change my mind?

Oh god. Run and hide, one and all- this tune is horrible! Don’t get me wrong, I love Britney and Will.I.Am to pieces (my music taste can be a little dubious at times…) but this is bad. Really, bad.

To be fair to Brits/Wills, the above version has been leaked a few days before ‘Scream and Shout’s official release, so the tone/speed may differ from the ‘real’ version- bit seriously? NAH….

John Lewis- Retail and Marketing Masters

There’s no denying that John Lewis’ adverts are one of a kind. They’re made up of the sort of stuff that makes you want to weep for ten years on end, whilst appreciating what you have, your friends and family, and love. It’s a formula any other retailer must crave- especially at Christmas time!

Although the past two years efforts have been truly fantastic, I think this ones my favourite. So special. What do you think of JL’s latest offerings?

Rihanna- Unapologetic (Album Preview)

Rihanna is a lean, mean, album making machine. Along with promoting the shat out of her singles, she’s still finding the time to make an album a year, and tour, and BREATHE. Like, what?

I love Rihanna to pieces, but I didn’t like ‘Talk That Talk’. It felt rushed, and a bit shit compared to ‘Loud’ (and I know people that ‘Rated R’, but I thought it was pretty damn good!).

Not too sure what I think of ‘Unapologetic’ from the sample. Hmmm. Will have to have a full listen upon release! Does it jump out at any of you?
