The Carly Effect

By nothing short of a miracle, Carly Rae Jepsen secured her forth week at the top spot of the UK Top 40 yesterday. But seriously, how did something of this magnitude happen? It’s the Carly effect, of course.¬†

Recipe for the Carly Effect

Crazy Public: The British public are clearly crazy. Quite like the whole scenario Carly speaks of, really.

Celebrity fans: Everybody from Justin Bieber to Katy Perry have created a parody to the track. They have millions upon millions of hits. Cheers guys.

Pop Lovers: Cheesey pop obviously didn’t dispose along with the 90’s. Spice Girls, AQUA, Backstreet Boys- it’s time to whip out the old classics!

Love Is In The Air: A magnitude of singletons have braced Carly efforts and called on their neighbours/friends/passers by to, dare I say it, ‘call them maybe?’. Never know, this could be the best thing to hit the dating scene since Take Me Out!

Broadcasting: The radio have played it to death so the whole world and his dog knows about the tune.

So, what’s the overall winner in amongst this concept? Produce cheese, and lots of it…
