Florence + The Machine- ‘Spectrum’

This is the best wig Florence has sported in a LONG time. Brilliant. Great song, too. What do you all think of Florence’s latest efforts?

(Tip/Warning: After a few plays, ‘Spectrum’ becomes the catchiest of the catchy. It will stick in your brain like glue. Preaching over and out…)

‘Les Miserables’- Trailer

With a cast full to the brim of A-list stars we knew we’d be in for a treat with this one- and after what feels like years we finally have our first ‘Les Mis’ trailer. Hallelujah!

Is anybody else surprised at the tone of Anne Hathaway’s voice? It’s a far cry out from the typical powerhouse renditions of ‘I Dreamed A Dream’, but Anne’s ‘hush hush’ approach suits Fantine’s frail nature in the musical; and it gets my approval for sure. Any other musical fans out there that are looking forward to a bit of big screen Les Mis action?

Royal Fashion Find- Jubilee Weekend
On Tuesday the whole of the UK/world will be going wild as the Queen will be partying the day away to celebrate her 60 years on the throne. Considering that only one other ruler has succeeded in doing this within the boundaries of British history (ie- the legend that was Queen Victoria and her lengthy rule of 63 years and 7 months) it really is quite the event to celebrate!
Union Jack, this is your time to shine my friend! The above four pieces are all from the British high street, so you won’t be needing a royal budget for this one. Bring on the celebrations, that’s what I say!

H&M- Autumn ‘12 Look book

It’s hard to believe that the fashion world is already talking about the Autumn when we’ve only just started to get our share of the British sunshine! I’m hardly one to wish away the nice weather, but considering the upcoming H&M collection looks really impressive, I knew it was something I had to share with you all. Apologies for the lack of bright colours, swimwear and sunnies everyone!

What to look out for in the Autumn season: peplums, sheer and embellishment- in their bucket loads!

David Beckham for ELLE
When Mr Beckham was lined up to be ELLE’s first male cover star, that was it- we KNEW it was going to be impressive stuff. He’s the perfect candidate for the ELLE woman, and now that the photograph’s are here the expected has been confirmed: yes- Mr David Beckham is in fantastically good nick for a 37 year old, and Victoria is incredibly lucky.
Good on you, ELLE! (To drool over more pics, the Daily Mail have published a few!)

MDNA Tour- Express Yourself/Born This Way Leak

Cast your mind back to early 2011, and you’ll remember the ‘Born This Way’ war between Lady Gaga and Madonna. Many claimed that Gaga was ripping off Madonna’s classic, whilst the opposition bravery fought Gaga’s territory by shooing off the internet wind up merchants. Just to add more salt into the old wound, it has been reported that the above video was recorded at Madonna’s MDNA tour rehearsal over the weekend and that the singer has remixed the two songs together especially for the occasion.

Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but is this Madonna stirring up old trouble, or is she accepting that she’s a fan of ‘Born This Way’? Either way, it’s clearly not a coincidence. Hopefully the song is a nod towards Gaga as a sign of approval, but what do you all think? I’m on the fence…

Five Reasons Why You Should See ‘Men In Black 3’
After three years of story adaptation, production and editing- ‘Men In Black 3’ finally hit cinemas across the world on Thursday. As some of you will know from this post my film life was in a sorry state a mere three weeks ago as I’d somehow failed to see the original until then, but after enjoying the 90’s cult film more than I had expected I decided to park myself in a cinema seat last night with a bunch of my nearest and dearest.
I’d be the first to admit that I’m what you’d call a picky film sod. I only like the best films out there, and if there’s one little flaw within a script then I’m the first to sniff it out. MIB 3 however, was BRILLIANT- so here’s why you should all go and see the black suits swan back on screen this weekend…
1) The trailer poorly portrays the quality of the film; it makes it look cheesey and cliche- when really it’s not like that in the slightest. We all went in with reasonably low expectations; one of the main reasons I wanted to see the film was to compare my thoughts with the ace film reviews (and critics- you were SO right!)
2) The cast were OUTSTANDING with a capital O. Will Smith had too many one liners to count on all of your fingers and toes combined, and Josh Brolin’s stand out performance as Tommy Lee Jones was just that- stand out.
3) Not many films have the ability to make you crack up one minute, and want to pour your sorry heart out the next. ‘MIB 3’ had the emotional change dial out at all times- the high and lows of the film were what made it unpredictable and exciting.
4) I didn’t check the time once and you know what they say- time flies when you’re having fun!
5) The ending was the best cinematic conclusion I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t want to give anything away, but it wasn’t something I saw coming and I’m like Indiana Jones when it comes to film hints, I always try to track the ending down!
So, in a nutshell- ‘Men In Black 3’ is more than worth your time of day. Okay it’s a blissfully sunny weekend, but for two hours it’s more than worth cooling yourself off in your nearest cinny with a tub of Ben and Jerry’s in tow. From a notorious 3D despise-r, I’ll happily say the 3D wasn’t half bad either. MIB 3, we loved you!

Kelly Clarkson- ‘Dark Side’

With ‘what doesn’t kill you makes you Stronger’ still lurking around on British radio after months of airplay, it’ll be refreshing to hear Kelly’s new single ‘Dark Side’ replace it over the next few weeks. The whole concept’s a bit cheesey but the songs a gooden, and a definite grower. Your thoughts?

Cheryl’s ‘A Million Lights’ Artwork!
With Cheryl’s third album due to hit the shelves in a few weeks, the artwork has finally landed online. Personally I love the hair and beauty styling (that hair colour? Amazing!) but the finger posing? Nah. Not so keen, Chez…

Katy Perry’s ‘Part of Me 3D’- Clip

Concert movies have become big earners for the film studios over the past few years (just ask Justin Bieber)- and so the obvious move was to evolve Pezza’s one woman wonder show into a big screen spectacular. An even more obvious counterpart was to release the film over Independence Day weekend, and to promote it to the high heavens… Paramount you clever things, you.

The above video shows a clip behind the scenes of the tour, and goes a bit into how Katy works. Unashamedly, I’ll probably be one of those suckers that goes to see Pezza prance around the screen as I sadly missed the tour, but will any of you be queuing up with your popcorn to see the flick with me?
